Best edition?

I'm considering taking up the Bach "Italian" concerto as my next big project.

There are so many editions of this work out there. What's a good one to learn from?

I have the Henle. It’s great, like Henle usually is.

When I take on a serious piano endeavor that’s going to occupy me for a long time, I’ll often purchase a couple of editions just to get alternative fingering suggestions. Especially for collections such as Rach Etudes-tableaux, LvB Sonatas, Chopin Ballades, etc.

Why don't you just start by looking at the numerous free editions at IMSLP?

@Klaus I did. I was just wondering if it's worth purchasing one that's substantially different from the public domain versions.
