    To all who celebrate boxing.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

Was watching an old Christmas show today and the audience had a big sign:

      WELCOME PACKY EAST

“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

When I was a kid I honestly believed my dad went boxing on Boxing Day. If you saw my dad you'd realise how ludicrous this was. Tweed sports-jacket and a pipe.

It's a shame that it isn't a thing here. Not the boxing, the extra holiday - you get two days for Thanksgiving, you really should get two for Christmas.

        I was only joking

In the CDN Reserves and Regforces, we inherited a tradition making Boxing Day a busy one for officers and Senior NCOs. The officers served lunch to the latter (excluding the Regimental Sergeant Major) in the Sergeants’ Mess after the Senior NCO’s had finished serving lunch to the ranks in the Soldiers Mess. After that the Senior officers would serve lunch to the junior officers and Regimental Sergeant Major in the Officers’ Mess. Following lunch all the senior NCO’s would be invited into the Officer’s Mess lounge for cocktails on the officers’ Mess dues account.

          Elbows up!
