Happy Christmas to all and be sure to have one that Cromwell would outlaw.

More than just a little quiet. Shovelling snow, dog walk, eat, watch 1st episode from season 11 of Death in Paradise, read for a bit then sleep. Probably outlawed by Cromwelian standards - absolutely no feelings of unworthiness or guilt or any desire to read ancient texts in order to feel totally unworthy.

I quite fancied decapitating a King over the Christmas period, but one wasn't available in Rhode Island, so I got legless instead.

          I was only joking

Yes, wanton leglessness would be outlawed.

One would think with my heritage I would have some idea what Phibes was on about.

Phibes, I had to look up 'legless'. LOL

We are all worthy, even if we don't believe it, care about it, or even think about it.

Our Christmas here was also quiet, just me and hubby. Kiddo is coming here in January after another research paper is completed and submitted to a conference committee for an event in Germany. (It's not the one you are part of, Klaus. So no conflict of interest for you. LOL)

I admit I rather enjoy a quiet Christmas, after having had decades of hectic ones that required much travel, demands from my mother and MIL, much tension, and little time to relax and have fun.
                    Ahhhhhhhhh ......
I also enjoy an extended holiday season, the full 12 days and all that. This year will definitely be an extended season, and it's really a treat. More mulled wine, more gingerbread, more christmas tree lights, more fun with just the family members that know how to have a good time. We will be sure to have an Epiphany cake with the little symbolic items inside. We've been doing that for many years, mostly because we enjoy the cake, but also because the little symbols can be very fun to consider for the coming year. Cromwell might not approve, but he's not invited anyway.
