The temperatures and fires in Russia - Hey Klaus et al
-
@Mik My energy bill in 2021 was approximately 800€ (I have solar panels, so electricity is no big issue).
I guess my bill for 2022 will surpass 5 grant 🧐🧐🧐
So hell yeah, this winter is becoming cold. -
@Renauda 150 sqm. That includes kitchen-dining room-living room (one open space in fact), bathroom (only morning and evening). Bedrooms, corridor, bureau and hall are not heated.
Average temp is 19C. When kids are coming for Xmas we slightly raise to 20C.
We got used to it meanwhile -
Ouch. That is uber expensive. That space would equal a slightly above average size bungalow here excluding the basement.
We’re heating a two storey house of about 255 square metres excluding a finished basement of about 100 sq metres. The house though is built to a cold weather standard with 6 inch insulated walls and triple glazed argon filled windows. It is pretty energy efficient by 1990s standards. Our winter gas heating bill is right now on average is around $170 CAD per month which would be about €120/month. That is close to double what it was two years ago. Our electrical bill is separate and runs around $300 CAD = €221/ month.

That's quite a hit. Did you limit the heated areas last year as well, or is this an adjustment for this year?
Are you seeing political pressure to turn the Russian gas back on?
