Can someone explain the Musk hatred to me?

I get it, he's more of an entrepreneur than real businessman. More mercurial gadfly than engineer.

None of this hatred bubbled to the surface before he bought twitter. And of course, all those "If you don't like it, build your own platform" types are the loudest.

He didn't build it. He bought it. He owns it. All of it.

Don't like it, build your own platform or just go away. Seems like Mastodon is going to go the way of Parler, WeMe, etc.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

I'm with you. Like him or not, you have to respect what he's accomplished.

I don't get the Musk hate either.

The timing seems to be connected with the twitter purchase.

It seems like he was moved into the Trump category. I'm not sure he belongs there but the tone of Musk discussion sounds like Trump. He seems to be hated by the Hollywood celebs and dems.

Apparently he was booed for something like 10 solid minutes. I'm somewhat surprised. Dave Chapelle's audience isn't exactly the woke.

          Here's the video.

          Edited to show longer clip.

I think his space stuff is very cool. I’m not such a big fan of the cars, but he’s a risk taker and when it works it’s great.

I think the whole Twitter thing is quite bizarre. The whole free speech Messiah routine is a bit much.

            I was only joking

Proponents of "free speech" sniff of being "conservative-sympathizers". You can figure out the hatred from there.

You seriously can't go around saying you like free speech anymore. It's a dog whistle, as far as the left is concerned.

              Education is extremely important.

We’re in an all or nothing type of environment. You have to adopt your perceived side’s position on all matters or you are to be castigated and belittled…

@LuFins-Dad There's a big contingent like that, but by definition they don't show up to Dave Chapelle shows ever since he said some unapproved things about the trans movement.

See, I think the trans movement is the one exception to the rule. I actually think the pro-trans group is actually in the minority, but it is such a famed loud and vocal minority that a lot of people on the left are afraid to say something. I could see a LOT of leftists sit there and nod at all the right places over trans talking points, but really agree, then sneak off to a Chappelle show when they think nobody is looking.

I don't dislike Mr. Musk, I just think he has just gotten a bit goofy. Maybe he always was goofy and just kept it out of public.

Now, he believes his "celebrity ness" and thinks it gives him the ability to talk about a lot of things that maybe he shouldn't.

Lot of celebrities fall into this. Because they are famous, they believe that their knowledge on things has increased because of their famousness.

Usually, it is the opposite. As they become more famous, they are more isolated and actually know less.
