The Satanic Temple of Illinois installed a holiday display in the state’s capitol next to a Nativity scene and menorah to commemorate the group’s "satanic values."

"Let us stand now, unbowed and unfettered by arcane doctrines born of fearful minds. ... Let us demand that individuals be judged for their concrete actions, not their fealty to arbitrary social norms. ... Let us stand firm against any and all arbitrary authority that threatens personal sovereignty," Minister Adam of the Satanic Temple of Illinois said in the rotunda of the Illinois State Capitol last week, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"Hail Satan," Adam and other Satanic Temple members said after the invocation.

The biggest problem with all this? It’s not satanists, it’s just a group of atheists that are pushing this to irritate and annoy people of faith. That’s being an asshole, not freedom of religion…

Yep. If you ignore them, they will go away. But they count on people overreacting. My hometown got a group of them trying to start a kids' Satan Club after school. Lots of falderal and screeching, but no one showed up other than the instigator's kid.

I almost feel sorry for people that have so little to do in life that they spend their precious free time trying to tear down others' communities.

I have no issue with atheists just as long as they're not telling me what to not believe. Same way with evangelicals of all sorts.
