What was your reasoning?
As much as he likes being brushed, sometimes, he develops some mats that are just impossible to comb/brush out. If I get aggressive with them, it hurts. The mat, as it dries, gets close to the delicate skin and starts to hurt the skin. So, keeping them under control is important.
I took him to a new groomer on Friday to detangle the mats, brush everything else, get a pedicure (nail trim) and a "sanitary shave" around the anus. He's good about keeping the butt clean, but, as long as the hood was up...
Upon return, he was super sweet, rubbing against Mrs. George and me - just glad to be home.
Then, on Saturday, he looked "off." He crawled into the "hider-house" at the bottom of the cat tree. He's only done that a few times, once when he was sick with his subcutaneous emphysema. He had no interest in eating, and spent the rest of the day on top of the tree. Ignored his bedtime treats, etc. Obviously I was worried. I was going to take him to the vet if, by Sunday PM, he was still "off."
Yesterday, he seemed a bit better, and he ate his usual dinner. He also wandered the house, going to his usual haunts. This AM, all seems to be back to normal.
The only thing I can guess is that, when they bathed him, they used some stinky, perfumey stuff. When he came home, he sure smelled nice, but I wonder if that was stinky for him, and threw off his mood and appetite. He hardly smells of it at all today, and his demeanor is more normal.

We had an anesthesia tech at our place, Sue. She was, well, a bit rough around the edges, to say the least. When her car broke down due to a faulty transmission during a vacation to the South, she told us that she blew a tranny in Memphis.
Then, one Monday, she told me that she shaved her big black pussy and asked me if I wanted to see pictures. Being the gentleman I am, of course I declined.
Actually, I'm taking Maggie in on Wednesday AM as well. She's got some mats that need attention, and she is (mostly) black, so...
