They’re not risqué, they just portray a lifestyle the network does not approve of.

A perfect example of the difference between tolerance and endorsement.

Well I hope they don’t get all religious. I hate the way Christmas has been hijacked by Christians. They have been trying to undermine the traditional holiday values of rampant capitalism, gluttony and drunkenness in recent years, which is a worrying trend.

A little Jesus wouldn't hurt you....

Wasn’t he a character in Hill Street Blues?

    I was only joking

Some of the hallmark movies are okay, but I watched on that was so bad, it was (unintentionally (I think)) funny. The "snow" on the bushes was obviously cotton fluff, and then in the next scene they were driving down a street with palm trees, etc. Definiltey was filmed on a low budget. LOL

          About $1M/film, IIRC...

Christmas movies are not really my thing but I must say I really liked “Love, actually” from years ago. very corny but also very well done.

I was shocked to find out that my husband likes to watch those Hallmark movies sometimes. The things you learn when you are married.....

I think @Mik is trying to come out of the Christmas Movie closet in this very thread but he’s remembering what happened to his man-card over the Pedicure Incident…

Don’t worry, @Mik. Real men watch Hallmark movies.
                  And Lifetime too.

                    No way

About half the time I walk by my wife's TV she has a Hallmark show on.

At least they all look like Hallmark shows. Usually they have Amazing Grace playing very slowly in the background.

The males in these shows always seem to be wearing big comfy sweaters and they never stop smiling and looking longingly at the starlets.

I gather there’s two different guys in these movies. Big hunky guy in flannel shirt and big hunky guy in business suit… The big city girl always ends up with flannel hunk and country girl winds up with the Wall Street Doctor/Lawyer.

You'd be surprised how many people watch these things. I wasn't aware of it until they filmed a Christmas movie in my hometown a few years ago.

                        Isn't Christmas bad enough already?
