Very sorry I've appeared to neglect your posts of the day, George. I've been having problems with my data usage, occasioned by the devilphone which in addition to its wonderful other advantages gobbled up data horribly, like CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP! and I had to cut back on usage.
I have since rid myself of the devilphone -- as we speak it languishes in a junk box in a dark closet where its evil heart will hopefully ROT, Mwa-ha-haaa -- and gotten one that's blissfully easy to use, but much of this cycle is gone already. Hopefully when the new one starts I can be more present.

You might want to look into T-Mobile internet. If you're within range of a tower, it's only $50 a month, unlimited - and no equipment
extortionrental.Verizon (different towers) has a similar plan, but it's more expensive ($80, I believe).
I've been very happy with T-Mobile. The speeds are erratic, but for what I do (web browsing, Netflix, etc), it's always enough.
At the moment (just checked), I'm getting 518 downstream. I'm about half a mile away from a tower - line of sight.
Each of these providers will tell you if you qualify based on your address.
