Ben Shapiro is right on all counts I’d say. (Read the whole thread)

Shapiro nailed it, but some of the comments reinforced my opinion that most on both sides will miss the point.

Overturning Roe was a gift to the Dems.

Trump was a gift as well.

Add to that the GOP offered up little other than 'we're not THEM' and it's fairly easy to understand why the wave fizzled.

Hoping we do take one of the houses. The economy has historically done better with divided government.

What's odd is how few Republicans seem to see this, or at least be willing to do something about it.

Actually, I can appreciate them not wanting to back down on overturning Roe - it's a matter of genuine principal to a lot of people. But Trump? That guy has nothing to do with principals, genuine or otherwise.

This is the one that bothers me. Dems throwing money at magats in primaries on the theory that they’re easier to beat. I find it irresponsible and cynical. Now we’ll definitely see more of it.

One of the comments put it well. It’s always apparent which side Trump is on. He’s on Donald Trump’s side.

If this small potatoes election was a price we pay to rid the GOP of Trump, it's worth it.

In the real world, yes. But not in the fantasy world of Trump.

In an interview posted ahead of the results on Tuesday with the network NewsNation, Trump said, “Well, I think if they win, I should get all the credit. If they lose, I should not be blamed at all.”

In the world according to president Trump.

Even his campaign advisor is advising him not to make a announcement on 2024 running until after the Georgia senate run off.

Kind of funny. To me, that says that even the campaign advisor knows that president Trump will hurt the upcoming Senate election if he says he is going to run. :woman-shrugging:
