My opinion is that things in the US are too good, and most people are pretty well off, such that the "rage" and "anger" is not deep enough or long lasting enough to cause anything like the article says.
The rage and anger in the US is like a match - it lights and burns bright for a short time and then fades. There is not a critical mass of people in the US who have a long burning anger. The US has too many good things going for it that make it hard for people to remain long term angry.
Compare to the recent protests in HK in 2019. A million people in the streets for weeks at a time.
I am not a future predictor, but I just see no way of something similar happening in the US.
