        I think it is a good idea. From my understanding on how it works, my analysis is that it "forces" a candidate to appeal to the wide audience, not just the fringe sides.

            It's good in theory and practice. We need structural incentives to depolarize. The uber-partisans on both sides hate the idea so it's tough to get implemented.

                        The one in 2010, where Democrats and Republicans alike wrote in enough ballots to get Murkowsky voted in over both the Democratic and Republican candidates? What better evidence could you need that Alaskans consider the candidate over the party and the true preference of the electorate might be someone other than a party favorite.
