                  He was a real SOB, from what I've read. Totally aloof, very private, and at times, nasty.

                  But, when he was on TV he had a long-lost genius - that of making everyone comfortable and at home.

                  And, unlike today's cretins, his politics was never mean-spirited and never polemical. If I want late-night, I want entertainment.
