All we had to go on was the hellhole that was the Lombardy health system at the time. Sadly, as time went on, no one seemed to want to acknowledge that not only did the virus change, but our knowledge of it also changed. Once the vaccines came out it was game over for the most part. But many would not let it go.

The problem is that even today, mask nazis exist. Service men and women are being discharged for not taking a vaccine that doesn't work or doesn't work very well. Hospital employees are being shown the exit door, at a time when we're closing floors (not rooms) for inadequate staff.

Old people are also getting ridiculed for wearing masks, using hand sanitizer in public, etc. Maybe it's not madness exactly but it's pretty shitty.

Oster bought into the religion, long after the science had moved on. Look at her statement about injecting bleach, a Left -wing trope...I watched that news conference. It was very early in the pandemic, and everybody was grasping at treatment straws. Trump made a comment while spit-balling multiple ideas and the talking heads took it out of context and ran with it.
And the Leftist acolytes said amen.
No, things have changed. Actions must change with new knowledge. Apologies aside, there are people who lost their jobs over not taking an ineffective vaccine. There are military who were discharged for not taking the vaccine. Both civilians and military should be compensated.
We also need to take a very hard look at emergency power laws. There needs to be very clear guidance on when those can be enforced and how long they should run without mandated reapproval by legislatures.

The results, which Pfizer announced in a news release, have not been published in a medical journal or reviewed by outside scientists..
Then why make this announcement?
Two independent studies posted online late last month suggested that the updated shots do not offer better protection against the new omicron subvariants than the original vaccines do..

You know, this stupid article may have been just the thing Republicans needed… One thing that pissed me off about the Republican plan was their focus on the 2020 election and not on how badly many of our local leaders at the school board, city, county, and state levels fucked everything up. Winning control of the Senate will be nice, but the real Red Wave needs to occur at the Schoolboard, Mayor and County Commissioner levels. We’ve lost that.
This column helped remind a lot of people.
