          Affirmative action has been in place for roughly three generations. Equality will never be achieved until the participants decide to make themselves equal. That has not happened.

              @Jolly LOL. I think that they are competent - but I will never know if I got "that" doctors that was last in class. Not something I think a doctor would announce.

              Maybe a doctor would say - "I graduated first from my medical school", but I don't think they would say they were last. LOL

                @taiwan_girl there's precious little data (if any) that shows that rank in medical school class correlates with anything other than how well you did in taking exams and clinical clerkships.

                My school was strictly pass/fail. Well, not strictly - there was also "honors."

                  My school was strictly pass/fail. Well, not strictly - there was also "honors."

                  @George-K I agree. I am not a fan of using GPA to measure how prepared someone is for a job. There are other things that can make a good job person other than just GPA.
