GM has said it will produce only EVs. Tesla now has a huge plant in Austin. Fird is moving towards mostly EVs. But...

I read the other day, the U.S. government would have to subsidize each EV almost $30k to make them affordable enough for the average American. That money did not take into account the infrastructure necessary to run all the new EVs.

I don't think a GOP congress will be as enamored with funding for EVs and their infrastructure.

Will EVs be the death of GM? Or any other manufacturer?

When people who live in urban areas and park on the streets with no access to charging, when the charge takes half an hour, or more, it'll rattle the industry.

An article I posted earlier points that out. Most EV buyers are single-family homeowners. That's only (iirc) about half the population. When you're eliminating half your clientele, well, that's just stupid.

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

WaWa is a fairly large regional convenience store/gas station in the mid-Atlantic.

I stopped at a WaWa in Vienna, VA yesterday and was astounded to see not a single gas pump but 20 Tesla Recharge Stations.

Vienna has had a problem with too much money for years now.

They are running out of ways to spend it.

There is some charging company that their whole business model is partnering with petrol stations.
