When we used to go hunting pickled eggs and beer were a staple for those of us who were not rum or whiskey drinkers. The latter two referred to it as chemical warfare.

I’m taller than normal, so I have to pay extra for premium economy, business, or first. I’m fine with girth limits on coach seats.

Of course that would never fly in today’s “fat is healthy and beautiful” culture.

I was on a trip to/from Tokyo (fortunately in business class) and lady carrying a baby came around to all the seats in the section with a little bag filled with sweets and a note attached. The note was something like

"this is my first flight and because I am so small, it may seem a little frightening to me. If I make noises or cry, I am apologizing in advance. I will try to control my emotions but may not be successful. If so, I am sorry"

Bottom line?

Airlines need to make a profit, but they don't need to stack people like sardines. Remember the saddle seats from a couple of years back?

I'm not big on regulation, but seat widths and distances, and especially aisle widths, should be of adequate size.

There’s a whole lot more to this story. The woman that posted the tweet is being hailed on one side and being totally destroyed on the other for fat shaming. She is being attacked relentlessly as a bigot and a fatphobe…

I don’t care. I’m not a fucking doctor and I’m almost always in first class. If you want to be comfortable, pay for it. Either that or make the whole plane first class.
