        The fact of the matter is that Kirill is where he is and what he is today because during Soviet times he was wholly beholden to the KGB. He was probably on its payroll. Putin was a counterintelligence Colonel in the KGB.

        It makes sense that Kirill revers Putin, the Patriarch is in Putin’s pocket.

          It does. It also shows has has no legitimate claim to his position, at least in any modern theological sense. If the powers that be ever kill Putin, he should be next.
