    Said I would stump ya.

Very famous actor playing a role you'd never think he would play...

Nope, but the actor is of that stature.

This former WW2 aerial gunner and Academy Award winner, once called upon his experience as the lead character in a play, to reprise that role in a movie version made ten years after the play.

What was unique about the play, was that the primary supporting actor in that play, also played the same lead character role 41 times on television.

It was a popular character, having been the lead character in 96 movies.

                    1. Who was the lead character?
                    2. Which Academy Award winning actor played the character on stage and in the movie?
                    3. Who was the supporting character?
                    4. Who played the supporting character on the stage, but the lead character on tv?
                    5. The name of the play and the name of the movie are the same. What was the name.

Ah, I should have guessed it was Holmes, which would have led to Jeremy Brett at least.

I'd never have guessed Charlton Heston without Google.

                      Nice one.

Many people do not know Heston was a B-25 gunner. He served in the Aleutians, but later in the war.

Heston loved theater, but almost never played Broadway. He played regional stuff. He had played Holmes in the play in Los Angeles.
