Kluurs, keep us updated on your wife's reaction.
That's nearly 104, is that near ER time?
Hope she improves very quickly, as of course do we all.

Temp is down to 100.4 this morning - but high fever, high bpm. I'm hoping the worst is behind us.

@kluurs amazing how variable it is.

I got a shingles vaccine months ago and it hurt like a summnabitch for days afterward. Never had a reaction to any flu/COVID vaccine.

Mrs. George had the shingles vaccine last week - nothing.

Glad that she's, hopefully, on the mend.

Yeah, we got our boosters and flu shots Wednesday. No reaction, like always for us. Lucky. I wonder what the difference is between people or doses.

Speaking of Shingles vaccines, I had chicken pox as an adult about 10 years ago, and have read conflicting reports about whether I should or shouldn’t have the Shingles vax. I’ll obviously ask my doctor at my physical but I am curious if @George-K or @Jolly would know anything?

According to my mother, I never had the chicken pox. As I understand it, I should not get the shingles vaccine.

Did you have the Chicken Pox vaccine?

I actually caught my Chicken Pox from somebody that had Shingles, He didn’t realize it was contagious.🙄

@LuFins-Dad There was no Chicken Pox vaccine when I was a child. I have not had the vaccine as an adult either.

                  Natural immunity FTW! 😉

CDC says to get it and stipulates that immunity is about 7 years.

I had chicken pox as a kid and was vaccinated after that, iirc.

When I was 26, I got shingles. Hurt like hell, but it healed and I ignored it.

I got it again when I was in my late 60s.

I got vaccinated about a year ago.

I had Chicken Pox, Measles, Mumps, flu and Covid - all pre-vax.

Shingles was 30+ years ago, my recollection of what the doctor said was something like, "it is going to hurt for a few weeks, there's not much you can do about it."

He was right, it hurt, with some sores along the bottom of the rib cage, but I don't remember any other symptoms.

My doctor told me to get the vax.

We're done with the first dose of the shingles vaccination. Time for round two to complete the series.
Friends have had shingles, big tough guy friends, and they all said to get vaccinated. If they think it's worth it, I'm sure it is.

Got boosted 48 hours ago - both of us.

No reaction for either of us.

                            Go figure.

I've never had a vaccine reaction at all. Maybe a slightly sore arm once or twice.
