Artist Jason Allen used AI tool to create a piece of digital painting that won a state art competition.
My take: I don’t think AI created the art. The artist just used a certain piece of AI-enabled software (and whatever that’s in the AI’s learned model at the time) to create a painting that passes (for most humans, in the Turing sense) as art.
In any case, I like the end product, and I congratulate the artist on the win.
