Coyote's in the house
-
Coyotes are at least more interesting than woodchucks. We had one of those this summer. It was entirely too brave, and even attempted to come up the steps to the front porch while I was out there one afternoon. Yes, during the day this happened. We got an extra large trap, set it up where he liked to roam, and have not seen him since. The trap is still there, in case he reappears.

For those of you not in the east, we have Eastern coyotes which have both wok and coyote lineage and are much larger than normal western coyotes.
Like a large German shepherd as he describes. They also roam more than the western type.

We used to have a little guy in the bushes by the house. He'd sit there quite happily on his back legs and eat the wild raspberries. The kids wanted to adopt him.

We live on the edge of a Nature Preserve that goose about a mile down to the Potomac and is about 4 miles wide. We have a large number of Eastern Coyotes down there. It was so bad a few years ago that I couldn’t take the dogs for a walk past 7 PM. There is a hill in on the edge of the neighborhood where they would gather…
It’s been better the last 2 years but we still hear them occasionally. Haven’t seen them, though. Our new excitement revolves around a young black bear that’s been spotted a couple of times now…

I searched art showing a coyote using a wok because I thought it would be interesting, but couldn't find any. Surprisingly.
Yes, there is something sly about coyotes. Like a mean kid who won't engage with you, but will stuff your kid sister's doll into the downspout.

Folks, Eastern Coyotes do not have wok heritage, though there may be a few stir-fry restaurants that have tried...

It makes you wonder though, did the Wolf do the Coyote or did the Coyote do the Wolf?
