Has anyone read "The Satanic Verses?" I've been tempted for a long time, but now, I'm more curious.

I've read other things by him, but not that one. Midnight's Children was very good, but not an easy read by any means. I kept meaning to read Shame and The Satanic Verses, but could never quite summon up the energy.

I read it in college when it came out. I wouldn’t have normally, but the Ayatollah talked me into it.
