In a mere 7.5 years, the twin towers will have been gone longer than they stood.

In a similar vein, I just read today - we are the same distance from 1970 that 1970 was from 1918.

      I was only joking

We should feel very young as a species, though.

The distance between the Brachiosaurus and the T-Rex is way larger than between T-Rex and humans. We've basically only been here for a few seconds.

Reminds me of an old joke. The doctor says, "If you stop drinking you'll live longer," and the patient says, "No, it'll just seem longer."

Success is measured by your discipline and inner peace. – Mike Ditka

Depends on who you're married to...

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

I remember when you could stand on top of the twin towers, outside on a cat walk.
