I may be wrong, since it's been a long time since I read the book, but the B-24 was not particularly well-though-of if you believe Laura Hillebrand's book, "Unbreakable."
It had problems with the high wing design.
The satisfied customers were still alive.
The unsatisfied customers tended to not answer the survey.
