Well, E9 was an improvement. I did like Blue Bunny. Sorry to see him fall to Gorn gestation.

Yeah, and Vesuvius was worse than Mt. St. Helens.

It wasn't good. I found it tedious and boring. It seems like they're trying to shoehorn the characters (Uhura) into the storyline so that they fit the "established canon."

"The Orville" is more imaginative, although I really hated this week's "Woke AF" episode.

This Trek thing is supposedly on Paramount+
The Orville thing is supposedly on Hulu+
And you folks have another thread talking on AppleTV+

How many streaming services do you subscribe too?

Season Finale: 4 out of 5 stars.

The minus: I really HATE time travel/alternate history stories that try to resolve themselves so that everything sort of works out.

The plus: Great seeing Pike and Kirk together. Good backstory on the Federation/Romulan conflict (where are the Klingons, by the way???).

Nice space battle(s), but it's getting a bit too predictable, and after watching The Expanse, I HATE "swoopy" maneuvers.

Satisfying conclusion of the first year, with a minor cliff-hanger regarding #1 that opens the door for future tales.

Still, this is light years beyond "Discovery" and "Picard" (of which I've watched neither of the last seasons).

Haven’t watched E10 yet. Watching the first episode of the new Orville as I write this.

Ok that was my workout show. Indeed 4 stars. But Indont like the new Kirk. He looks like Jim Carrey.

Still, the Romulans were very true to form even if some of the dialogue was nakedly stolen.

              The new Spock is excellent.

                @Mik....

                Watching The Orville.

                What, ANOTHER time-travel show? LOL.

The difference between the two is that The Orville tries to be light hearted while being serious to the story.

Star Trek; Strange New Worlds tries to be serious to the story while being light hearted, sort of.

Nevertheless, ST:SNW is parsecs beyond the other new iterations of ST. Perhaps it'll find its stride like The Orville has.

All that aside, nothing can compete with Anson Mount's hair.

Voyager reboot? Not sure why, but OK.

It was OK. I never warmed up to it that much. One of the characters looked like a Sugar Crisp with ears and was supposed to be comic relief, but had a hot human girlfriend.

@Mik Did you get around to watch the 3rd season of the Orville?

I was watching S3 E5 and noticed that on board the Orville, Steinway and Sons is still the concert piano of choice. :man-shrugging:

@Axtremus I’ve watched a couple and liked them both they have accomplished a very difficult task.. to both honor and spoof the original. It’s a pretty brilliant piece of work.

It took me a while, but I did come to enjoy Voyager quite a lot. It was quite dystopian and had some interesting story arcs. Each of the characters was flawed in their own peculiar way. Janeway had a ruthlessness about her as Captain owing to the nature of the environment she operated and the mission that confronted her. Mulgrew played the part very well.

Yeah, I liked Janeway and Chacotay a lot. And Sugar Crisp's hot girlfriend. The doctor was interesting in that he was a hologram.
