In casual conversation, has anyone mentioned the Jan 6 committee meetings? Positively, negatively, or nothing at all?

My parents were more or less glued to it. Which is whatever; they're still coming around to the idea that 1991 CNN is not 2022 CNN and I'm sure as hell not going to try to have that conversation.

Other than that, no, of course not.

      Please love yourself.

I only talk politics with you lot.

Or I guess when I mansplain to my family back in Canada that their caricature understanding of American political issues is wrong.

But to answer your question, no.

            Well, they're stoned, so...

No, I get the impression that the 1/6 commission has lost its sheen, having generated no serious outrage, and now they have a shiny new thing.

Prithee, what is your parents perception of American politics?

Greatest country in the world. Eons ahead of sort of politically corrupt places they came from. But my dad still sometimes worries that some people will think he's taliban - He has a turban and beard - so he dresses extra nice when he's here.
