Now that getting an abortion is going to start becoming difficult, the next logical step is going to be making contraception more difficult to obtain?

The headline is a bit of gin-up journalism. What Thomas is really talking about, is a view that believes the states' authority has been usurped by the Feds, and there are multiple cases that have been built on bad Constitutional law.

@Jolly said in Thomas goes there...:

multiple cases that have been built on bad Constitutional law

Was that the basis for Ginsburg's objection to Roe?

It was more practical than legal - the court got too far ahead of the politics and caused a backlash. Her view was that the politics was shifting and they would have been better off waiting.

It’s worth mentioning that she quit talking that way once she got on the court

Yes. She thought it was a mistake to base it on privacy rather than women's rights, but she also thought the states should have aa bigger role. For her I think it was right result, wrong mechanism. It may end up back in the courts on that basis.

                        Yeah. I’d hit me.

Really though I was on the phone and it was easier to hit the reply to the last post (mine) then the general reply button which gets obscured sometimes.
