Now that getting an abortion is going to start becoming difficult, the next logical step is going to be making contraception more difficult to obtain?

The headline is a bit of gin-up journalism. What Thomas is really talking about, is a view that believes the states' authority has been usurped by the Feds, and there are multiple cases that have been built on bad Constitutional law.

It was more practical than legal - the court got too far ahead of the politics and caused a backlash. Her view was that the politics was shifting and they would have been better off waiting.

Yes. She thought it was a mistake to base it on privacy rather than women's rights, but she also thought the states should have aa bigger role. For her I think it was right result, wrong mechanism. It may end up back in the courts on that basis.
