From the book Information Wars by Richard Stengel: He tells us domestic disinformationists greatly outnumber foreign ones. "Disinformationists supporting presidential candidates are hard at work." Then, "Tribalism is the breeding ground for disinformation, and social media seems to reinforce tribalism."

This about social media is hardly earth shattering, but it seems important to keep in the forefront the reference to tribalism as the breeding ground of disinformationists. IOW, there is a battening specifically on our tendency to butt heads. It's not just about changing minds and hearts, but doing so by widening differences that already exist.

Finally and IMO very key, "The ontological problem of disinformation is that it gets in the way of us seeing reality for what it is . . . we all have prejudices and biases, but disinformation exaggerates those prejudices and biases and accentuates our divides." (Italics mine.)

Success is measured by your discipline and inner peace. – Mike Ditka

Okay. After I had to look up most of the words to figure out what they meant, I have come to the agreement what you posted.
