Only tangentially related but next door someone mentioned that Camden NJ fired their entire force and hired back only selectively. I wondered how that could ever make it by the union.
Turns out the City of Camden actually permanently disbanded their police force. So one party to the contract ceased to exist.
Simultaneously, Camden County decided to start a police force...
Apparently the move cut the average wage and benefit package in half.
