Your stoner parents took a cruise trip, and now have COVID in Amsterdam ...

Give me a couple days to process each piece of this, Aqua. This creates so many questions.

    Hope they are better soon!

Nah. I know better than to ask, even internally. ๐Ÿ˜„

Quick update: they're still in Amsterdam. They should've left five days ago, but they keep testing positive so they can't get on a flight. The hotel they were staying at learned what was up with them and kicked them out, so they were "homeless" for something like 16 hours before finding somewhere else to stay. Took another PCR test, still positive. And got kicked out of their place again. ("No vacancy" but according to my dad, all but 3 rooms on their floor were empty.) So they're in a third hotel, and rebooked flights for the 14th. Fuckin' hell.

Spoke to my mom last night. She sounds like shit. Not "hospital" bad, but still pretty nasty.

@George-K @bachophile @jon-nyc Any of you guys have experience getting/sending meds in foreign countries? I don't think they packed for nearly so long a trip, so wondering how this might work.

        Please love yourself.

On the homelessness! These people who kicked them out, did they have any advice about where they were to go??? And where did they go?

I see why the proprietors booted them -- sort of, it seems like they could have sequestered them somehow. It's not like the pandemic sprang into existence last week. But it still sucks. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

In China, they would have been forcibly quarantined in a dedicated quarantine hotel. Which would be better than this de facto forced homelessness they're experiencing there in a more enlightened western culture.

As if being sick wasn't bad enough, the repeated hotel hopping they have to endure is just miserable.

Hoping they test negative soon and come home. What a trip.

Still though, they did, and by the time they get it sorted out, they'll be home. I'm sending this along, though.

I get it, but they were already kicked out and they already started staying elsewhere, so what difference does this make?

                                        Please love yourself.

In case they run into any more problems where they are at currently.
