Of course. Would I give you something fake?

The project is not huge, but is a challenge . . .

This is huge! How much of the work are you doing yourslves?

Not to introduce a neggy, what is the mosquito situation in Minnesoooota? My friends have a koi pond; they have been concerned that some authority will shut it down re mosquitos and West Nile.

I know your pond won't be still or stagnant; their koi pond water was in constant motion because of, duh, the koi.

It's not a pond. The water is in constant motion with a recirculation pump. The water flows from the top of the fountain to two levels of cut blue stone, and then to a final level of blue stone beneath the large pedestal. The water is captured in the underground rock-filled space below the pedestal, which has the rubber liner.

From there, it gets filtered and flows by gravity through a pipe to an underground catch basin. The pump then takes the filtered water and sends it through a tube to the top of the fountain for another round of the same process.

The catch basin has a float system that works like the float in a toilet tank. When the water level gets low, it opens the water spigot that adds water to the catch basin. That happens as often as needed automagically.

The water moves continuously, so mosquitoes cannot make it their playground. 👍

We're doing this ourselves, not hiring any of it done..

          Kudos. Really.

Send pictures when it's all done? Or better yet, pix of the various stages of construction. That would be very interesting!

Oh, the underground parts are done. Tomorrow we'll add the last of the small rock, lay the first layer of blue stone, install the granite pavers, and trim the excess rubber liner. At that point, it will be time to drive my truck to the place where we are getting the bottom pedestal.

Unloading the pedestal will involve using a winch above the truck bed in the garage. Raise the pedestal, drive the truck out of the garage, lower the pedestal to a dolly at floor level, roll the dolly with pedestal to the site. That will be exciting!

              Our anniversary habit

              We've given up...Anniversaries, birthdays, holidays?

Just another day ending in "Y" for us.

We remember, but we really don't exchange gifts or celebrate, usually.

Pretty much the same at my house, although we do try to buy each other a little something at Christmas. Last year I bought the wife a bottle of Coco.

Shucks, my wife forgot our anniversary this year.😄😄

The kids and grandkids? Well, that's another story...
