I also agree that President Biden has done a terrible job. being much more "reactive" than "proactive" in his job.
Another of Trump's achievements. Being such a douchebag that he managed to get somebody as useless as Biden elected.
I'm sure his supporters hate hearing this, but it's true.

That is alot of truth. I would guess that more than 50-55% of the voters in the 2020 election were voting AGAINST a candidate rather than FOR a candidate.

Much the same as in 2016
I mean, Hillary - really?

Hillary, like Mitt, would have been a competent President.
When the electorate passed Hillary over in 2008, at least the chosen one was also a competent President. Not so in 2016.

Time to make some money.
You know, I was looking at some historical data today, since The Resident is hellbent on dragging us into stagflation. Took darn near 30 YEARS to get back to the market high of January 1966, once the economy started to wind down.
Now, it ain't 1966. Or hopefully, not 1976. Some things are really different...World trade, for one. The pressure of the 401K investment class, for another.
Just me, but if I was going into the market right now, it would be buy and hold in blue chip companies that provide goods and services that Americans will buy in even a protracted down economy. And I'd do that with a dollar cost averaging approach.
But that's just me.

Better to be thought a fool, than open one's mouth and confirm it.

I think Lincoln actually said, "...and remove all doubt."
But there's lots of other lines that are similar, according to the "quote investigator."
Proverbs 17:28. Here is the New International Version followed by the King James Version of this verse: [1]
Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
Yale Book of Quotations (YBQ)[2] investigated the saying and presented the earliest known attribution to Lincoln in Golden Book magazine in November 1931:[3]
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

Several hundred billion dollar market cap swing for AAPL between the low of the previous trading session, and today's high. Nearly 10%. Crazy amounts of money in theory, but it goes to show the folly of extrapolating the value of every share, based on the sale price of the most recently sold share.

This is what happened to snapchat after their earnings report this afternoon:
I thought that was remarkable for being a near perfect cycloid curve. Imagine the fastest way a rolling coin could get from the top of that drop to the bottom. That's a cycloid. Now imagine a third of your coins, rolling down that ramp, into an incinerator. That's a snapchat investor.

I suspect the market is a wee bit volatile at present.

Volatile enough that we called off the kitchen remodel. I’m going to paint the cabinets again and replace the hardware. The project was running from $25k now upwards of $40k. We can afford it, I just don’t think it is a good investment right now, with the possibility of real estate prices coming back down.
