Just got through reading a pretty thorough review on the Ford Maverick. For just beat about driving, the hybrid did pretty well. For anything you'd actually buy a little truck for, the 2.0L ecoboost gas engine ate the hybrid alive.

Now, let's extrapolate that out to half-ton pickups, which are the majority of vehicles in many rural areas.

It just doesn't work to intentionally drive the price of gas and diesel up for these people. They ain't going electric.
