Antifa are shitbag opportunists that need larger crowds to hide in before they start their rampages. I don't think there's serious risk of them moving this into the 'burbs. Unless tensions escalate. That would surely make it easier for them.

You seem to not understand that a police officer harping so strongly on shooting people is not likely going to help a week-long, nationwide riot that started after a police officer killed somebody. It's absolutely fucking stupid and beyond tone-deaf. Let them figure it out for themselves, you don't say shit like that if you want to keep things civil. It's almost as bad as ACAB.

I think that, in most jurisdictions, if someone comes to your property with the intent of causing harm, you have the right to use proportional, if not deadly, force to defend yourself and your property.
Does this not apply to a business that's being looted?

In our area, that's not true. A guy breaks in and goes for your TV, you can't injure him. All you're legally allowed to do is call 911. You can only defend yourself against an imminent threat.

Louisiana's Castle Doctrine In Louisiana deadly force is legal when preventing immediate death or serious bodily injury in one's home, vehicle or place of work. Non-deadly force must be deemed reasonable under the circumstances.

Only if he makes a deliberate move against you. You hit or shoot him in the side or from a long enough distance, and you can very well be prosecuted.

Here's what the police chief told me a long time ago. If you shoot him, make sure you kill him. And drag the body inside the building before you call us.

In Atlanta today, the cops have backed up and are starting to let some rioters do what they may. Many have determined the possibility of criminal charges if the do the wrong thing in the heat of the moment or even if they appear to do the wrong thing through the wrong camera angle, is simply not worth it.
I do know Apple is having to provide armed security for its Atlanta employees, and none of those employees are allowed to wear corporate insignia. The employees were being attacked, for whatever reason.
