Because William the Conqueror was also known as William the Bastard doesn't automatically mean that he becomes an honorary German.

True, but you have to admit that he pwned you guys pretty hard.

I have a direct ancestor that was a Lord in pre-Norman England and lost his land and title due to the invasion. Or as my family calls it, the late unpleasantness.

He clearly cheated. Harold had already defeated one bunch of foreigners two weeks earlier and then had to march freaking miles to deal with the Normans.

Otherwise he would have won - by a lot! So Sad.

                      Maybe a little luck involved.

Possibly, but I almost figured it out on 2 as well and it was an easy 3…

I have a new approach to this game. I get it in three or consider it a loss.

I start with two equations that together cover all symbols and numbers. After those two I also know where the equals sign is.

                        The ones I use are:
                        9*8+4=76
                        20/5-3=1

Then I give myself one guess on the equation.

@jon-nyc nice… I had 2 set equations as well but I always wound up 3-4 total and stopped playing. Using 3 as a challenge to reconsider…
