He clearly cheated. Harold had already defeated one bunch of foreigners two weeks earlier and then had to march freaking miles to deal with the Normans.

I have a new approach to this game. I get it in three or consider it a loss.
I start with two equations that together cover all symbols and numbers. After those two I also know where the equals sign is.
The ones I use are:
9*8+4=76
20/5-3=1Then I give myself one guess on the equation.

@jon-nyc niceβ¦ I had 2 set equations as well but I always wound up 3-4 total and stopped playing. Using 3 as a challenge to reconsiderβ¦
