I don't think so. I think their perspective is that the Nazis—which is anyone not liberal—want to intern mankind in patriarchal concentration camps, and so they must be stopped by any means necessary.

So with masks for example, they aren't kowtowing in their reality. They're protecting the good people from no-mask-wearing Nazis. There's no difference in their mind between following mandates they agree with and being the enforcers.

If they wanted to be slaves, they'd be constantly looking to be told what to do. But their focus is on pretending to be Captain America fighting the supreme evil that is everything not liberal.

    Please love yourself.

I was having internet troubles last night, so this didn’t attach. This was the reference for my comment that liberals just want to be slaves.

The Gentlewoman Gentleperson has a pretty poor understanding of how government is supposed to work.

What they want is for their mainstream ideas to be enforced with prejudice by the government. They have been raised in a culture where they basically assume the government will toe the line with their opinions, so they are for big government. It is a peculiarity of their disconnect from reality that they manage to be this utterly mainstream and pro government, while considering themselves and everybody they know and like, their whole social and professional circle, to be mavericky counter-culturalists.

            Education is extremely important.

If the courts were taking away a government policy she didn't like, she'd be singing the praises of the US Constitution. And no doubt others would be complaining about activist judges.

              I was only joking

                Uh, no.

One side of this argument will howl about outcomes, but still understand what correctly upholds the levers of power in this society. That side understands that change comes about by changing the forces that control those levers by fairly electing representatives who will change what they can, through Constitutionally proper procedures.

The other side is increasing concerned with power at any cost, Constitution or fair elections be damned.

Bullshit. Donald Trump or his supporters didn't do that, they lied about having the election stolen. He's still lying about it. He didn't do that for no reason.

@Doctor-Phibes And you are more full of shit than a Christmas turkey.

The precise reason January 6th happened, is because people doubted a fair election had taken place.

Even a moron could figure out the solution is to tweak the system to ensure absolute transparency and no way to game elections for anybody's advantage.

No, this is a misrepresentation of what happened. The people invading the Capitol building were by and large not sophisticated high-information voters. They were useful idiots that had been mobilized by a highly cynical individual who for reasons best known to himself was incapable of admitting that he lost.

And, for what it's worth, I fully support the implementation of Voter -ID, and ensuring election transparency.
