Meh, I say "large" in there all the time.
On the rare occasions they say something like, "so you want a grande?" I say, "I refuse to participate in your shenanigans."

I once asked for a grande and the woman misheard me and said ‘venti?’ I said ‘no, sedici’.
She did get it but I made myself laugh.
