One story I read said that there are
threetwo ships of the Kirov class.Of the remaining two, one is undergoing a retrofit and, with all the sanctions, parts might be impossible to obtain. The other one, to replace "The Jewel of the Black Sea" will not be allowed passage, as I said.

Nukes threatened if Sweden or Finland join NATO.
My question is, what about the interim period between NATO application and membership? I know they're working on security guarantees but how is the rest of the world going to view an attack from Russia during this interim period?

Further to my earlier response, the Russians are being, as always, more than just a little disingenuous with this threat. The fact is that Russia has for some years now, already deployed nuclear weapons in the Kaliningrad region (formerly Konigsburg, East Prussia) of the Baltic Sea.
