Bidenphone!
In the twitter thread, someone commented that you can get a "smartphone" for $20-30.
- I'd love to know where.
- Who's paying for the service? Cheapest service I've found is MintMobile for about $250 a year.

I don't know about $20, but for $100 you can certainly get a decent enough smartphone.
Yes. Now give 200,000 of them away (that's only 1/5 "immigrants"). That's only $20MM.
I've recently seen estimates that refugees over here cost more than 1000 Euro per month per person. I assume it is not so different in the US.

Interesting.
We have had over a million "immigrants" cross the border in the last 15 months. $12 billion.

Doesn't sound so extreme yet.
I for one don't mind refugees if they are really refugees from war or the like. The Ukrainians - keep them coming. What I do mind are those who sneak in opportunistically. Half of the refugees that arrive here from the Ukraine are ostensibly "students" from African countries.
Given our "borders are murder" government, we'll still take them all, of course.

If Mr. Biden is impeached, it will be over his handling of the border.

I think that the most of the immigrants to any country are for economic reasons. The percent of "true" immigrants fleeing persecution in their home country is probably pretty small.
As I have said before, I am very much in favor of expanding legal immigration policies, but also being strong against illegal immigration.
But I am sure that there is some relation between the labor shortage in the "service" industries and the reduction in immigration (legal or illegal). I dont know how much, but there must be some. The only reason the US is growing in population and what really sustains alot of economic growth is immigration. Natural births are not enough.
