All of SAG gets the screeners. Basically the producers send them to all to generate buzz.

Good question.

Offhand, I'd guess he's not eligible for any award in the future, and can't attend the annual circle jerk award ceremony.

So it means nothing of relevance.

Resigning seems over the top. You can argue whether he should or shouldn't have done it, but resigning from SAG gives the incident more relevance than is warranted.

I'll bet it was pre-emptive. It's one of those "You can't fire me! I QUIT." things.

The Academy bans Will Smith from attending the Ceremonies for 10 years. Smith gets to keep all awards already earned, and continues to be eligible for future nominations and future awards.
