A few years ago, I asked my builder to orient my house so the sunrise would shine directly through my front door and down the hall through the kitchen and out the window on my daughter's birthday.
It wasn't much of a change to the proposed orientation. But he wouldn't do it, he said he couldn't make the house fit on the lot.
