      It's interesting how different the weather is at the same latitude. Generally, it seems to be way warmer at the same latitude over here.

            Both really. IIRC the gulf steam takes hot air from the Caribbean and brings it off the east coast and the jet stream takes it across the Atlantic

              I remember reading that stuff in school, how Rome was at the same latitude as Chicago. Yeah, it was a geography class on the jet stream that day.

                    That is interesting. WHen I think of places in Europe and places in the US, what I imagine and the reality are about 2000 km different (with Europe being much further north than I think)

                    (side note - Taiwan is about the same latitude as Cuba or south part of FLorida)
