Not those precise words but I always thought he was a treasonous hack.

He’s known and lionized in some quarters for divulging NSA programs that spied on Americans. Ok, blow the whistle on that if you like.

But he also divulged secret programs we had to spy on the Chinese. And many other things.

Mr. Snowden recently received Russia citizenship.

As part of receiving citizenship, he has to swear a loyalty oath to Russia.

I had the hardest time deciding what to conclude on Snowden. I finally decided he committed treason, on account of there are some questions in this world that can't be decided yay or nay, and Snowden had no basis for doing that. On some questions, one must perforce be satisfied with the answer that "it is what it is".

NSA is what it is, good parts and bad. It's the world we live in.

The seriousness of these is the only thing I might disagree with you on. We all should've shit our pants over those particular details.

All anyone wanted to talk about was how much of a hero or traitor Snowden was but he was almost completely irrelevant to the whole thing.
