Idiots indeed.
We have many immigrants from Russia. Their kids are bullied at school and they receive "Go home" letters.
If Germans are being told to hate another people, they will.
This is getting out of hand.
Apart from anything else, it's going to be counterproductive - my friend's BIL was arrested and beaten up for protesting the war in Moscow, meanwhile his wife's company in the US is getting death threats. Idiotic.

Just following up on the cat thing. I'm pretty close to Boris's breeder, so we had a brief exchange.
Me: "Thanks for the insights. It's a terrible time.
What alternatives do you have? I know of a breeder in Kazakhstan, though their web site's been down for a while.
Poland?"Breeder: "George Vee we’ll buy from Poland, Germany, or Italy. American breeders will also work together. Russian breeders are condoning this conflict & even trying to justify it. They’re saying the world is being lied to. According to them, Ukraine citizens have been begging for Putin’s help for years. They claim it’s Ukrainians pretending to be Russian troops, attacking their own people & Putin is just trying to bring peace to Ukraine."

You recently saw the citizens of the United States elect (allegedly) a senile man to the Presidency, with the most votes (supposedly) ever cast for a candidate for the office.
Don't underestimate the power of a willing media...

Just as big a lie as the left/democrats/fascists use when they talk about America.

After 192 performances at the Metropolitan Opera, soprano Anna Netrebko will not be performing this year due to her support for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Met made several attempts to convince Netrebko, who has made statements critical of the war, to rebuke Putin but failed to persuade the singer.
"It is a great artistic loss for the Met and for opera," General Manager Peter Gelb said in a statement Thursday.
"Anna is one of the greatest singers in Met history, but with Putin killing innocent victims in Ukraine, there was no way forward."
After Netrebko, 50, refused to repudiate Putin, she canceled her upcoming shows, leaving her next performance in Barcelona April
"I am opposed to this senseless war of aggression, and I am calling on Russia to end this war right now to save all of us. We need peace right now," she said.
"This is not a time for me to make music and perform. I have therefore decided to take a step back from performing for the time being. It is an extremely difficult decision for me, but I know that my audience will understand and respect this decision."
Netrebko received the People's Artist of Russia honor from Putin in 2008 and was photographed receiving flowers from the Russian president.

What's next? "Liberty Cabbage," "Freedom Fries?"
One Quebec restaurant is making a statement about Russia's war in Ukraine by taking the word "poutine" off its menu.
Le Roy Jucep in Drummondville swapped out the popular Canadian dish's name, which bears a similar name to Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the words "la frite fromage sauce," or "fries cheese gravy."

One Stolichnaya — er, Stoli — please.
The famous Russian-themed vodka is now just to be known by its nickname “Stoli,” one of the companies behind the brand said in a news release.
The move is a “direct response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” Stoli/SPI Group said Friday.
“While I have been exiled from Russia since 2000 due to my opposition to Putin, I have remained proud of the Stolichnaya brand,” billionaire Yuri Shefler, Stoli Group CEO, said in a statement. “Today, we have made the decision to rebrand entirely as the name no longer represents our organization. More than anything, I wish for ‘Stoli’ to represent peace in Europe and solidarity with Ukraine.”

Yep. The American racism narrative is the world’s largest, most widely accepted and most powerful conspiracy theory. Most of those who believe it most deeply are the sorts who reflexively accuse others of being conspiracy theorists, so they can giggle at them and marginalize them.

Met Opera ordered to pay Anna Netrebko $200,000 for cancellations over Putin ties
Russian soprano Anna Netrebko had several performances cancelled last year by the Metropolitan Opera in New York, after she declined to denounce Russian president Vladimir Putin following the invasion of Ukraine.
The Met Opera has now been ordered to compensate Netrebko based on the contractual ‘pay or play’ agreement, which requires arts organisations to pay performers even if they later choose not to keep them on.
Netrebko will be paid $200,000 for 13 cancelled appearances at the Met, including in two Verdi operas, Don Carlo this season and La Forza del Destino next season, according to the New York Times.
At the time of the cancellations, the Met said the opera singer had refused to comply with their demand to denounce Putin, which violated its conduct clause.
Netrebko went on to condemn the war in Ukraine, but told French newspaper Le Monde: “I was also asked [by the Met] to declare myself against Vladimir Putin. I replied that I had a Russian passport, that he was still the president, and that I could not utter these words publicly. So I refused.”
Arbitrator Howard C Edelman ruled last month that while there was “no doubt she was a Putin supporter, as she had a right to be”, aligning with the Russian president was “certainly not moral turpitude or worthy, in and of itself, of actionable misconduct”.
However, Edelman ordered Netrebko pay a penalty of nearly $30,000 for “highly inappropriate” statements that she made after the invasion of Ukraine, including a text she published on social media in which she called her Western critics “evil”.

Chief people officer?
I've worked with a few of those.
It was interesting theatre.
