“Cry havoc and let slip the DOGE of war!”

Those who cheered as J-6 American prisoners were locked in solitary for 18 months without trial, now suddenly fight tooth and nail for foreign terrorists’ "due process". — Buck Sexton

@klaus has been saying that for years.

"Now look here, you Baltic gas passer... " - Mik, 6/14/08

The saying, "Lite is just one damn thing after another," is a gross understatement. The damn things overlap.

It's not like they can't make good stuff. Their Leopard tank is affordable and world class. I wish we had something like their Wiesel. The Marder replacement, the Puma, also looks world class. Their mobile artillery is very good.

They make all of these vehicles and most of their small arms. It ain't like they don't know how to make good military equipment, the equal of most anything on the land battlefield.

The problem is not the technology.

The problem is in the minds.

We believe that every problem in the world can be solved by talking and negotiating, and that military is basically a superfluous monstrosity from the past. And in the few moments when we realize that this isn't quite true, we find comfort in the thought that, if the shit hit the fans, other less morally superior nations will save our asses.

I'm so sick of this mindset.

Too little, too late. Better than nothing.
