How to simultaneously fail and pass the covid test

I used the Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card Home Test with eMed Telehealth Services for Travel - 2 Pack

This covid test is done over an iPhone video connection and used to permit travel on a cruise ship. It has to be performed within 48 hours of the cruise departure.

I had 2 options, take this test or go to CVS downtown, CVS would delay driving to South Carolina and take me at least an hour in the wrong direction.

The test

• Establish the video connection with girl #1
• Swab up the nose, slide the swab into the solution and wait 15 minutes for results

As soon as I put the swab in the solution, the network (wifi) dropped. So they could no longer see me.

After taking a minute to figure out what happened I established a new connection over the cell - not wifi.

Girl #2 said, "too bad, you lose, the test is no good, call customer service, good bye"

So I went back to the original web page with the "failed network" messages and hit refresh. I connected to girl #3.

I told her that the connection dropped, she asked "how long ago?" I said a few minutes. She said OK and started a new timer. Test passed, negative, let's cruise. I never told girl #3 about girl #2.
