Norco dose frequency

The reason I ask is that the amount of acetaminophen in Norco (325 mg) is OK for mild pain, but probably inadequate for more serious pain.
I've become a great believer in the efficacy of oral acetaminophen. The only problem is that you're limited to 4 grams per day, because any more is toxic to the liver.
What I'd do is supplement the tylenol with 500 mg every six hours. Hopefully that'll get you over the hump.
Did you have surgery?

Ah, good!
As you know, today's your worst day. Do the tylenol thing. It's remarkable, and above all, DON'T get behind the pain. Take the tylenol religiously every 6 hours for the next 2-3 days. With the 325 in the Norco and the supplemental 500, you're at 825 every 6 hours.
It'll take about an hour to kick in.
That should help.

Right, thanks George. No drinking for me.

When the wife had kidney surgery, the Norco 10/325 rule was not to exceed six/day. At one point, she also received morphine, IV push in the ED, on a subsequent really bad day. Opioid on top of opioid.
I think I'd follow doc's advice and supplement with acetaminophen, being careful not to exceed max dosage. Liver toxicity ain't fun, either.

Dumb question of the day...
Can you stack Ibuprofen and Norco? Aren't they different pathways?
