The daybed is pretty neat. Murphy beds have been around forever and I don't know why they aren't used more.

The condo two doors away from ours was set up as a model. It had a Murphy bed in it. Very nicely done.

There are some neat videos on Youtube on how to build a Murphy-style bed without using as much of the expensive hardware. A bit more of a bother to pull down and use, but would be great for a bed that is only used occasionally, in a room such as a craft or exercise room.

By the way, when we stay in Cannon Beach, at the Hallmark Inn, we always get a suite that has a Murphy bed in the living room.
