    Now...The reason we are having problems with beds, is that nurses and other staff are chasing dollars. As much as $9,000/wk + $1000/wk per diem for a skilled RN. I know of one local hospital that has 40% travelers in the nursing staff. A lot of these guys are local...They're just playing Show me the money! and using staffing agencies to work for the highest bidder.

      Saw a story today saying that someone proposed a bill that would outlaw "price gouging" for nurses' pay.

          There are laws that prohibit gas stations from doing it. I'd imagine they'd apply the same principle.
